When I grew up, Purim in Israel (the Jewish version of Halloween) was a holiday I loved so much and waited all year. I’m 38 and in my mind I’m young however my childhood was SO different then my kids that I’m thinking… well maybe I’m not that young?

When I was a kid, (all older people start stories like that) we mostly made our own costumes. The whole “buying” costume experience just started however it was expensive as well. So my mom and I made my costumes. I was a waitress or a skates, queen of hearts, a doll, African dancer and what not. I decided to give my kids the same experience and every year we think of a theme, pintrest it and create it. I know I’m running out of time, my twins are 10 and this year gave me the face of it’s the last year so I had to make it count.

Daniel was the beekeeper – best for a boy who is doing a major favor to his mom who wants him to be part of the costume, Hailey (his twin) was the flower; I made her a flower dress. Once again, I do not know how to saw so I got a stretch yellow fabric and basically cut it and sawed it on our little manikin doll, than I sawed plastic fall flowers into it. Her hat was made out of a net and flowers.

Mia was our little bee… with black leotard, tutu and a devilish bee smile!

My inspiration… our street

great thing to have, manikin
